Location: Onsite, Full-Time | Austin, TX

Compensation: $40,000 to $70,000 + equity

Ideal Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking a detail-oriented, forward-thinking Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our CLIA-certified clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate will perform moderate- and high-complexity testing in accordance with regulatory standards while actively working to refine and automate these workflows. Candidates with an active MLT license are strongly encouraged to apply. If you want to push the boundaries of traditional lab work by integrating Agentic AI and automated systems into daily operations, this role is for you.


Key Responsibilities

• Process Automation: Develop, refine, and relentlessly automate testing and analytical workflows to ensure scalable, repeatable execution.
• Clinical Testing: Perform specimen processing, moderate- and high-complexity testing (after successful training and competency evaluation), and result reporting.
• Quality Systems: Establish, perform, and oversee automated Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes, alongside routine calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Follow established SOPs for specimen handling and analysis while identifying areas for process improvement.
• Compliance & Proficiency: Conduct proficiency testing in strict compliance with CLIA requirements; deeply understand and practice regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot testing issues, escalate when appropriate, and implement and document corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; OR

  • Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution with experience in a laboratory.
